Now thats interesting. Notice who is now using the Apple iPad: Royal School of Artillery. After rocking the industry with a tablet that really gets some traction, Apple has another feather to its cap. Armies have used the iPhone and other gadgets for language tools and other things, but iPad replacing instructors is certainly taking things to the next level.
In early trials at the Royal School of Artillery in Wiltshire, troops have learned the jargon and procedures more quickly than before, when they were sat listening to lessons from instructors.
It’s hoped smartphone and tablet technology could be used to speed up training across the army.
The good part here is that the iPads can be taken on field for practice and give a more hands on training. Another little bit is the cost saved in printing manuals & training materials.
I am sure Apple didn’t think of such applications when they designed the iPad, but they do acknowledge that the most innovative use of the iPad is yet to come!
